Charity Challenge

The Edmonton Marathon Charity Challenge connects the passion of running with the power of giving back. By joining, you can support local charities through a personalized fundraising page that’s easy to share with family and friends.

 

Everyone runs for their own reasons, and our charity partners reflect a wide range of important causes in our community. We encourage you to run for what inspires you most. Since the Charity Challenge began, participants have raised over $100,000 in support of local charities — a testament to the dedication and generosity of our runners. Together, we’re making a real difference in Edmonton. When you register for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, or Marathon at this year’s Edmonton Marathon, you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for the Charity Challenge and fundraise for a participating local charity.

How it Works 

During the registration process, participants are prompted to make a one-time donation to an Official Charity of their choice. Additionally, each participant is automatically assigned a customizable fundraising page, which they can share within their networks. Donations can be made to individual participants, fundraising teams, or directly to an Official Charity.

Become an Official Charity Partner

The Edmonton Marathon Charity Challenge gives local charities the chance to harness the energy of race weekend to inspire fundraising and awareness. Since its launch, the program has generated over $100,000 to support important community causes.

 

We welcome applications from local charities. The deadline to apply for 2026 participation is June 30, 2026. Please note that all applications are reviewed at the discretion of the Race Director.
